For those of us that got the Delias catalog back in the day it was like the Holy Grail. You remember searching through the pages placing a little star on all the items you lusted for and filling out the back order form, waiting feverishly until the day when your cool platform sandals, sneakers and raver skirts arrived in the mail. Part of what made Delia's really cool was how they could make simple pieces look so rad. I also loved the models. My favorite was a short dark haired chick that excited the Tom Boy in me. We all had that one model we could totally relate to. One cannot count the ways in which I and many other girls loved the Delias catalog in the 90s. It was a quintessential part of my teenage life. I was a baby bat in high school and I loved pairing some of the raver shoes and long skirts with my gothic tops. I even added some color into my wardrobe with some of their adorable sweaters and shirts. I loved their skater pants for when I skateboarded and their adorable floral dresses. I had a lot of dark dresses I use to pair with my gothic chokers. Recently I found an amazing dark, Asian style skirt on ebay that is vintage Delias, size small, fit perfectly. I recently paired it with some of my mesh gothic tops and velvet choker.
