Gothic Lolita and Kawaii
Today I felt very gothic lolita, anime and decided to put together a fun little gothic kawaii inspired outfit. I love to layer when days are a bit foggy or overcast out. I am into anime/manga stuff. My husband is part Japanese and his family is from Japan so I hope to someday visit there in the future. I am pretty obsessed with Japan and I really love Japanese gothic/punk rock street style. I gather a lot of inspiration from people I meet and also my fruits books. It is father's day so I am taking my dad to see the new Superman movie and out to dinner later. Happy Father's Day!
Plaid skirt, vintage TRIPP. Grell Sutcliff shirt, Hot Topic. Kitty ear hoodie shrug, Angry Girl Gear on etsy. ( I got an amazing corset from there as well a while back.)

Hair cut and style tutorial
A lot of people ask me how I do my hair. I have a layered cut short boyish in the back and longer in the front. Almost like an a-line shag type but here I show how I style my hair. I always ask for a detached cut and if it isn't "detached" and piecey looking enough I cut it myself but this all depends on how you like it. If you want kind of a punk rock vibe make more pieces shorter and detached from the longer pieces but to make it drastic make sure you leave some pieces long. If you have longer hair ask for an androgynous cut. This sounds silly but a lot of my favorite hair cuts I find from my favorite male anime characters. I'm not joking. I get a lot of compliments on my hair cuts. I hope you like my tutorial. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
First and most important I blow dry my hair with a product that protects it from heat. This is very important as you dont want to dry your hair out especially if its processed or bleached etc. I usually use something from Aveda. The products smell delicious and are very pleasant. Second after its all dry I add a bit of hair spray and began to flat iron stick straight. After I flat iron I take a few choppy strands from top layer to front and spray it with a hairspray. Make sure you use one that doesn't have tons of water you do NOT want to flat iron while your hair is damp/wet etc. Aveda has an amazing hair spray that works very well. After you spray hair with hair spray take the flat iron and take it and when you are near the end kind of do a breaking gesture like you are going to break the hair (but don't actually break it lol) then let it go and put a bit more hair spray to finish. If you'd rather not do the flat iron thing you can always put some pomade or product in your hands and scrunch the top layers a bit to make it look more messy. The trick is to take a few strands at a time so you can make it look detached.Take pomade or some bedhead product and to add more body near the back to front for more of a messy look but it on the very tips but not too heavily. It depends on how "messy" you want it. After that you can add more hair spray or any other product you might want to stick some of your hair up with and voila! This is how I do my hair. I hope it works well for you.

Please excuse my pup in the background :) |
Aveda and Bedhead products are my favorite. |
Flat iron is essential tool. Love it. |
Here is more of a closeup. It looks a bit softer because of the light but if you want a jagged edgy look make sure you put hairspray in and do the flat iron trick I do. |

New outfit post
If your a tomboy like me you will fall in love with this new store called WildFang. It is amazing. I have searched forever for a cool store like this. For years I have typed in tomboy fashion or tomboy style clothing and I finally stumbled upon this gem. My new jacket is so comfy and it has become a sort of uniform for me. I wear it everywhere. It has a new home in my closet right next to my gothic trench coat. I am going back for more tank tops and tees soon. I will have some new things to wear when I longboard this summer ;)
"Army of one jacket", "There's no place like home tee", WildFang. Pants, Nomads Hempwear.
